The Official State Sandwich of Florida

I have a confession: I don't put Publix Ranch on my Publix Chicken Tender subs.

Whatever milky substance that's is in that squirt bottle (suspect Ken's steakhouse) clashes pitifully with the amazing Texas Pete buffalo hot sauce.  Perhaps it's the sogginess of this Ranch on the crisp Publix white sub bread, but the author does not think the Condiment belongs on the PubChxSub. I'll bravely say that this situation is one of few occasions where bare mayo is an acceptable substitute.

My personal preference for the official Florida state sub is different than most. I've been asked many times before the secret to the perfect Publix Tendie sub, so here are the special instructions to a slop-free, sog-free meal:
  1. Visit the official Are Publix Chicken Tender Subs On Sale website to confirm the glorious sub is on sale this week. I prefer to withhold carb spikes for special occasions such as these. Sometimes it can take months, but the wait is worth it.
  2. Use the Publix deli online ordering system to minimize wait times and enjoy the sense of superiority knowing you'll be enjoying your fried tendies a good 10-15 minutes before the unemployed people wasting their lives away in lines.
  3. Make sure to wash it down with empty liquid calories like the blackberry lemonade or Virgil's Root Beer.
